Prosolia Headquarters consisted a challenge of creating a 1,000 sqm workspace for 70 employees in a spot with low ceilings and more than 80 pillars spaced closely together. One of the facades of this “concrete forest” however, offers a wide view over the Turia Gardens in Valencia.
PROSOLIA HEADQUARTERS (Valencia)
After carefully defining the client’s needs, it was decided to build tailored large working tables placed between the pillars, releasing the rest of the gaps to freely move around within the pillar forest.
Meeting and executive rooms are located on the facade overlooking the gardens, which is the most visited area by the company’s clients, incorporating the reception and waiting area there as well.
The other wing of the office hosts the working stations, along with internal meeting rooms, a parking area for scooters and bikes, and some phone booths. A unique space between these two wings is the large multipurpose dining hall, which also functions as an auditorium for company internal meetings thanks to the bleachers running along one of its sides.
Due to the low ceiling height, all installations - AC ducts, ventilation systems, electrical and data systems - are left exposed. This technical solution already lends an aesthetic character to the offices, resulting in a youthful and technological appearance complemented by raw materials like stainless steel, spray insulation ceilings, and natural timber. This cold, raw material palette is balanced with vibrant elements, such as abundant greenery and furniture upholstered in bold colors like orange and yellow, especially in the occasional areas that connect different work zones.
Special emphasis was placed on the acoustics of the office, which are crucial in a space with such a large capacity. Carpets on the floor, textured ceiling surfaces, upholstery, vegetation, and double-glazed partitions all contribute to sound control in the space.
