CASA D´ARAGONA (Valencia)

Casa d’Aragona is a Neapolitan cuisine restaurant in the historic center of Valencia that celebrates the kingdom of Aragon, to which both cities belonged.

This emphasizes the historical elements of the restaurant, located in an old building in one of the main streets of the old town of Valencia, such as the masonry facades and brick partitions.

These elements are shown bare of any ornamentation to make the diner travel back in time while enjoying the authentic traditional cuisine of Naples, where the owners of the restaurant come from.

Historic Renovation

Where the original character of the building cannot be preserved, elements of almost medieval reminiscence are added, such as a barrel vault in the narrowing of the room, without neglecting the comfort of the present day.

Lighting and design as key elements

The palette of materials tries to accompany the constructive elements of the building with a dark patina, with natural woods both in the pavement and in the furniture, reminiscent of medieval banquets; and a very warm and subtle lighting that envelops the diner in a gloomy but cozy atmosphere.

The toilet space has a particular design that simulates a small chapel, where the free-standing washbasin is reminiscent of a baptismal font, a nod to the faith shared by the Crown of Aragon.
